Welcome to my new blog! This is exciting, isn't it? I've never been much of a fan of writing about myself, but I've decided this would be a good time to start making sense of all the things I've done in the past both under my name and under the pseudonym Treymon Fauntre. I feel like I've lived quite a few lives that I don't often talk about. When I was a teenager I was a boy scout, a member of the Stetson Classical Guitar Ensemble, and I was teaching myself programming (Perl, oh god...) and graphic design (Photoshop 4.0!). At 16 I discovered the Gainesville punk scene and immediately identified with it, but at the same time in another life I was part of an incredible movement of web development that would eventually become Web 2.0. I merged those two worlds together with the online punk community I Hate Music, which was kind of frighteningly popular. Once Myspace, YouTube and Wikipedia took over the internet (IHM was all of those in one) I basically quit the game, and for most of my 20s I just played music and made friends the old fashioned way. I didn't even have the internet for a while, and I used a flip phone for as long as I possibly could. A chance shift in jobs brought it all rushing back to me recently, and now I spend 8 hours a day operating a pair of ecommerce stores that net millions of dollars a year.

I never imagined I would ever have a Wordpress installation running something with my name on it - even before I went on my hiatus they were the epitome of over-complicated PHP - but I'm too old to keep re-inventing the wheel. I'll see how far I can push this thing before I start to explore other options!
